pv design team trainer contributes to ion solar by creating training material, courses, and holding training sessions to build the team into the industry leader in terms of design deliverables with top quality and efficiency. at ion solar, the design & engineering department's primary goal is to create a high-quality, installable product for our customers and installation professionals. we excel in upscaling pv design subject matter expertise for system production, electrical design, structural design, and skillset in individual and team development. we reward over-achievers seeking future growth opportunities within the company as well as giving valuable skill sets that each individual will be able to take throughout any engineering related career type role. 

position type: full time. normal business hours are expected for the first 2-month training program. after completing the training program, the daily schedule is flexible. 

responsibilities

pv design team trainer has the following responsibilities and duties:

create training material centered around best design practices, electrical interconnect (nec), and structural requirements (ibc).  train and upskill new and tenured designers in technical subject matter expertise.  coordinate training with new hires, creating a robust training program to help them to be successful and excel in their role. take a proactive approach to training by identifying common issues the team faces or is causing to other departments. then, using this information to make training material to reduce those issues. effectively lead live training sessions with small or large groups. be the authority in terms of best design practices and construction-related codes (nec, ibc, irc, etc.)

qualifications 

pv design team trainer should have the following skills, education, and experience: 

1 - 3 years of experience building training material and/or leading training sessions with proven results. management experience required in a related or relevant role preferred but not required...  2 years minimum pv design experience; or 4-year engineering type degree; or certificate from a technical college; or field experience in a relevant trade  ability to upskill individuals/teams with continuous coaching and feedback and high accountability in areas of needed improvement for following sops and meeting industry competitive performance expectations.  work closely with structural engineers and master electricians for accurate and cost-efficient training material relating to design decisions.  efficient with construction-related codes and requirements. (ie. nec, irc, ibc, etc.)  efficient with energy storage system (battery) design, ground mount design, and/or other custom-made electrical line diagram design preferred but not required.  nabcep pv installation professional certification preferred. ability to manage time effectively and make quick accurate decisions.  ability to communicate effectively with other team members, engineering, and other operations teams.  proficiency in drafting related software such as autocad with excellent computer skills. self-driven to bring top performance to the team.  ability to work in a team as well as work independently.  detail-oriented individuals who can deliver high-quality projects end-to-end.
