position may be filled remotely within new york state

this position is responsible to provide vision and drive activities to deliver a sustainable data governance program across the enterprise.

strong project management and facilitation skills are required to chair committees and support stakeholder activities focused on data governance topics.knowledge of data governance scope and approach is essential to guide and provide leadership to improve data management and increase data usability and value. this includes promotion of a community of business intelligence analysts to build an enterprise knowledgebase of business terms, data assets, etc.

successful candidates will be capable of driving discussion to uncover issues and lead efforts to address data quality, data security, data retention, access management, accessibility, and usability.

demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with business departments and data governance stakeholders is required.

candidates must possess strong business savvy and analysis skills to ensure that program activities focus on value and deliver return on investment.

position qualifications

minimum education:
bachelor's degree required. bachelor of science in computer science or information systems is preferred.

minimum experience:

5-7 years of project management and business relationship management with experience in data governance.

required skills:
strong project management, facilitation, and leadership skills excellent planning, analytical, and time management skills data governance delivery exposure to database technologies: metadata, structure, design, end-user reporting tools excellent oral and written communication skills with all levels of an organization strong ability to build relationships with business and technical partners highly motivated, autonomous, self-directed; multi-task in a high-pressure environment exceptional customer service orientation excellent judgement and comprehension expertise with the microsoft suite of tools, sql, and data analysis understanding of the system development life cycle (sdlc) within large/mature organizations.

business case development program requirements, rfp development, vendor evaluation administration of software supporting data governance knowledgebase health insurance experience experience with tools supporting data discovery, metadata management, business glossary
