join the team of highly dedicated mental health professionals. we are presently looking for a patient advocate who will be responsible for supporting patient advocacy efforts through educating patients and their families, guiding complaint and grievance processes, and reporting unresolved threats to the performance improvement/risk coordinator.
qualifications:
skills/knowledge:
familiarity with accreditation, licensure, and certification requirements for a private psychiatric hospital
excellent organizational skills and the ability to complete detail-oriented work
consistently adheres to facility policies and procedures
demonstrates effective, therapeutic interactions with patients
high level of competence in crisis intervention (.i.e. cpi) including good verbal de-escalation skills and adherence to procedures in the use of restrictive interventions
ability to read, write and communicate in english and understand basic math
calm, compassionate, tolerant, and has therapeutic communication skills
excellent organizational and time management skills
maturity and self-discipline
problem-solving and critical thinking skills
good judgment
enjoys working with people
excellent customer service skills
education:
high school diploma or equivalent required. associate or bachelor's degree preferred. experience in customer service or risk management preferred. experience with behavioral health patients preferred.
experience:
at least one year experience in healthcare, preferably in a psychiatric setting.
