q&d construction, a top-ranked general contractor, is currently seeking an experienced preconstruction manager / estimator to be part of our aviation group team. q&d’s aviation group focuses on work in and at airports in the u.s. which includes new terminal buildings, support facilities, tenant improvements, equipment upgrades, vendor (concessionaire, leaseholder) build-outs, and airline-specific construction activities like: branding and signage, gate relocations, ticketing and check-in configurations, and their back-of-house facilities at airports. the q&d team of project managers, project engineers, estimators and superintendents work together serving airlines and facility managers over 100 airports across the united states. q&d works alongside our clients, within the framework and layers of regulations, restrictions and initiatives, to develop the most advantageous and cost-effective solution on their behalf. 



please note that this position requires travel to project sites to review existing conditions, meet with clients and build rapport with the subcontracting community at each project location.



requirements




two-year or four-year degree in any field or equivalent field experience
five years experience in estimating and / or preconstruction management
highly skilled in estimating software and quantity survey techniques
expertise in scheduling, proficient with scheduling software
highly-developed understanding of the preconstruction process as well as construction technology, means, methods, costs, production and materials
experience with cmar, design-build and other alternative delivery methods
proficiency in microsoft office products

is energized by successfully managing multiple estimating  and preconstruction projects at various stages of design, in many different cities, while working with lots of stakeholders
communicates well with clients, subcontractors, vendors and his or her own teammates
has some experience in delivering professional sales presentations
works collaboratively with peers and colleagues
is detail-oriented and organized with documentation and follow-through
takes initiative and is proactive in resolving issues and concerns and consistently follows through on commitments
builds relationships with clients and coworkers through being personable, professional, considerate, and fun!
