boeing global services (bgs) and the engineering product support function is seeking senior systems engineer 5 to lead our team virtually located across multiple boeing sites.  the candidate will map and manage the relationships between engineering business processes and it applications as they relate to bgs engineering by defining requirements for the next generation systems to be utilized for product lifecycle (plm), supply chain (erp) and manufacturing operation (mom) in the maintenance, repair, and overhaul  (mro) domain. 


as a system engineer, you will work alongside the product leads, technical leads and other supporting team members to deliver solutions that help the boeing company build safer, better, and more efficient after-market support capabilities.  


for this position we are looking for an individual with goldesp experience to capture requirements and synthesize all requirements into a bgs engineering level set of inputs and coordinate with it and other stakeholders.


this position will provide the opportunity to gain exposure to all roles of the engineering functions that support mro and how they interface with other functions.  this position also allow broad exposure to multiple programs and various leaders making this an excellent development opportunity.


position responsibilities:

develop and coordinate bgs fit for purpose digital enterprise requirements primarily for manufacturing operation (mom), but also product lifecycle (plm) and supply chain (erp) systems integrations applicable to the global technical operations (gto) mro environment including:

working with business architecture teams to translate bgs requirements to capability needs, roadmaps, and implementation plans. 

representing bgs schedule needs and legacy application migrations based on an understanding of bgs programs and system development lifecycle.

communicating project status to management and executives in the mro business. 

coordinating with bgs programs and functions to ensure designed solutions meet all gto business processes and contractual requirements.

seeking process improvements, simplifications, and efficiencies that optimize after-market support and customize digital enterprise solutions to mro needs.

tightly collaborating with a team of other bgs gto smes to define a solution that supports all mro operations in an integrated manner.


this position requires an ability to obtain an active u.s. security clearance. (a u.s. security clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)  an interim and/or final u.s. secret clearance post-start is required.


export control requirement:

this position must meet export control compliance requirements, therefore a “us person” as defined by 22 c.f.r. § 120.15 is required. “us person” includes us citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.  employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status.


basic qualifications (required skill/experience):

bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required.

experience authoring or managing requirements.

knowledge of and experience with architectural frameworks covering enterprise architecture, business architecture or it architecture


preferred qualifications (desired skills/experience):

3+ years of experience using goldesp

significant understanding of product lifecycle (plm) and supply chain (erp) systems

ability to facilitate a group of people through a workshop to achieve desired objectives and outcomes.

ability to communicate with different stakeholders with broad range of understanding and learning styles.


typical education/experience:   bachelor, master or doctorate of science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics.
