join an energetic, patient-focused team! heartland imaging is currently seeking an experienced tech assistant for a prn position at our outpatient imaging center located in louisville ky .

monday and tuesday 12pm to 8 pm.


job summary

under the direction of the radiology medical director and/or the technologist, the technologist assistant:

is responsible for supporting the radiology staff and providing the first clinical point of contact for patients. facilitates the patient flow to minimize patient wait times and maximize the utilization of resources. demonstrates competence with all imaging safety compliance initiatives. serves as part of the imaging center team and seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice.

essential job functions

identifies patients and provides assistance with the completion of pre-procedure forms. starts iv access according to standard procedure under the direction of a radiologist, and in accordance with state law. corroborates patient's clinical history with physicians order and procedure, ensuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed independent practitioner. may also verify informed consent, if applicable. provides optimal patient care by explaining procedure to patient and answering questions. follows established safety standards to ensure safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff. collaborates with referring clinics to facilitate patient care. assists staff with supply inventory needs and keeps rooms stocked as appropriate. maintains all medical record documentation in ris and pacs as appropriate. participates in ongoing customer service and process improvement efforts. facilitates film/cd readiness as needed for patients and referring offices. participates in performance improvement activities. demonstrates consistent use of aidet (acknowledge patient, introduce yourself, provide duration/timeline for test, explain the test, & thank them for choosing our center) and heal ( hear them out, empathize, apologize, & leap into action to solve) when interacting with patients/customers. takes the initiative to help other modalities/areas of the imaging center as assigned or when work load/area allows. attends/participates in staff meetings, in-services, and center-wide meetings as scheduled. performs all other duties as assigned.
requirements

experience:

one year as a trained phlebotomist and/or medical assistant experience preferred.

education:

must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

license/certification requirements:

bls certification required within 60 days of hire.

skills/abilities:

ability to work efficiently as an extension of certified/registered staff or licensed independent practitioner. ability to multitask. ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely. demonstrates understanding of human anatomy and medical terminology. knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
