purpose

reporting directly to the avangrid chro, the vp- talent and organization effectiveness will be instrumental in cultivating strategies to attract, retain and develop our company’s most important asset, our people. this role will and lead the talent acquisition, technical and corporate training, talent development and diversity, equity & inclusion teams and integrate these functions to drive strategic business success and growth as well as enhance the overall employee experience.

this role is responsible to provide leadership support and deliver on critical talent initiatives that support our company purpose, vision and strategy. this position will partner closely with business leaders, internal local and global hr partners, external stakeholders and vendors. you will lead the team responsible for sourcing and attracting talent for our current and future needs by creatively devising strategic staffing strategies to face our challenges head on.  you will drive a culture of learning, by creating an integrated learning strategy which invests in our employees technical, developmental and leadership capabilities. this role will evolve our de&i strategy to generate improvements, navigate the human element in our work, and enable all our employees to relentlessly be accountable for our company culture.

this position is responsible for building relationships within the organization that are based on trust, transparency, integrity and credibility. you will execute insightful and impactful talent strategies to our employees and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external colleagues



responsibilities

delivers an integrated people strategy which connects talent attraction, talent identification, succession planning, leadership and professional development and technical training to ensure that our programs and practices encourage and constantly support our culture of diversity, equity and inclusion develops and deploys talent acquisition strategies that cultivate a high-performance workplace delivers on our diversity, equity and inclusion strategy, ensuring continued progression to achieve our sustainability commitments; making meaningful connections and progress on our inclusive culture, diverse representation, and social impact delivers an integrated learning strategy across the enterprise ensuring development of strategic and technical capabilities, meeting the current and future needs of the business executes the evergreen talent review process across the enterprise to identify top talent, succession plans and key development areas identifies targeted approaches to develop future leaders to ensure a strong pipeline of internal talent for senior roles  communicates and liaises effectively with the executive team, leadership teams and across the hr team, soliciting input and partnership regarding direction, programs, policies, and cycles liaises with iberdrola group executive talent and development department to ensure alignment and effective implementation of talent strategies, policies and programs keeps up on the latest developments in talent practices in the market, within the business and of other major changes, to help avangrid stay ahead in its ability to attract and retain the best talent

skills and requirements

education/experience requirements

bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field
master’s degree is preferred
at least 10 years of related experience in two or more of these fields: talent attraction; talent development; diversity, equity and inclusion; learning and development
leadership experience in matrixed organizations
skills/abilities

excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with multiple cross-functional local and global teams simultaneously
ability to coordinate, focus and direct employees in analyzing complex problems, formulating the optimum solutions from various alternatives and implementing courses of action
ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and deliver desired results 
fortitude to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines; ability to anticipate and/or react to project adjustments and alterations promptly, efficiently, and professionally 
strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities on an expedited basis
