Carpenter/masonry worker - united states, ghazni

employee will work alone or with a team to construct large and small test assets and fixtures to support events conducted within the us army electronic proving ground test arena.
employee will perform work as needed for the general upkeep and repair of facilities controlled under the jacobs contract. this work may include modifications and upgrades to administration and existing test facilities. 
experience with both metal and wood stud construction preferred
experience with concrete finishing and form work preferred
experience with masonry preferred



high school diploma and 3 yrs experience, or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. 


ctlc requirements:

familiar with making and repairs high-grade wooden items such as fine cabinets and furniture, studying blueprints or drawings of articles to be constructed or repaired, and plans sequence of cutting or shaping operations to be performed. able to mark outline or dimensions of parts on paper or lumber stock, according to blueprint or drawing specifications, match materials for color, grain, or texture, set up and operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointer, mortiser, tenoner, molder, and shaper, to cut and shape parts from woodstock.


physical requirements 

heavy - exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. 


work environment
 

employee will be required to work in a variety of environments including outdoors, office, industrial and warehouse buildings. environment may include inclement weather, high noise levels and dust.


equipment and machines
 

employee will work with standard carpentry and hand tools. this may include air nailers, table saw, portable saws, drills, jointers, planer and other powered shop tools.


attendance
 

regular hours will be 40 hours/week monday – friday with every other friday off. regular attendance of scheduled hours is extremely important. punctuality and regular attendance is required. must exhibit flexibility of work hours to adjust to special situations based on critical mission requirements. position may require occasional weekend or evening work depending on task requirements.


other essential functions
 

government security clearance of secret or higher is required. must demonstrate professional behavior at all times when dealing with customers, management and co-workers. must have clear, concise and accurate communications skills in english, both verbal and written. grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk to employees or others. must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner. independent personal transportation to office is required.  when operating any vehicle for work purposes, must wear seat belt and in addition, no cellular or other communication devices are to be used when vehicle is in motion.
