about this position:

the purpose of the collection supervisor position is to:

note: this position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an office location may be required. however, this position is permitted to work at an office location if requested by the team member. lead a team of full-time and part-time collectors and senior collectors to exceed all collection and department goals collect payments from past due consumers by developing a team of collectors that can effectively encourage as many past due customers to pay as they can to avoid them becoming further past due and to get them current where possible in order to keep the customers in their cars hire the right people by accurately assessing talent and making employment decisions when necessary set clear expectations and continually reinforcing those expectations to ensure collectors are clear on their role train your team to improve performance by identifying when and how to use training and delivering it in an effective manner to the collectors manage performance of collectors by providing performance feedback, tracking their progress against their expectations and ongoing coaching to improve performance create the right environment within the department by building trust and credibility at all levels and supporting organizational change


outcomes and activities:

ensure your team consists of the right people and the right number of people set and enforce clear expectations for your team support collection efforts by assisting team members and handling escalated calls monitor and evaluate team performance continuously coach collectors on effective collection techniques effectively communicate so that all team members are abreast of current state of the department and organization execute administrative tasks as needed within the role


knowledge and skills:

self-driven, motivated to help, and able to perform with minimal supervision in a team environment effective at providing feedback to improve the performance of your team effective at assessing people inside and outside of the organization to ensure you have the right people receptive to ongoing feedback aimed at improving the performance of you and your team assertive, personable and persuasive with our consumers you need to be comfortable negotiating, discussing sensitive financial issues, and selling solutions to consumers remain positive, professional, determined, calm and focused when faced with challenging situations quick thinker, with an ability to understand and interpret information promptly and effectively ability to assess team member performance and implement action plans ability to motivate others to achieve goals ability to speak clearly, professionally and articulately on the telephone ability to communicate throughout the levels of the organization and recommend improvements when necessary comfortable handling issues and problem accounts from collectors and consumers ability to create a climate where people can do their best, and can motivate all kinds of teams ability to operate office equipment (copy machines, fax, telephone, keyboard)


requirements:

high school diploma or ged previous leadership experience


preferred:

previous customer service and/or collection experience in a call center environment experience in finance/automotive industry

targeted compensation: $5 6,100 annually with a monthly bonus
