vice-president - operations

reporting to the ceo of an asset-based logistics company that’s focused on courier final mile, ground delivery, expedited freight, and over the road transportation. their focus is helping companies accelerate e-commerce delivery along with freight transportation. this job has 200 trucks (80 class 8, 120 straight trucks), 360 drivers and 20 trailers operating from 15 locations in wa, id, ut, ca, az, nv, and tx.

the vice president- operations:

besides the transportation leads a team of 40 direct and 10 indirect reports. directs $40 million dollar p&l. goals is to launch 3 new operations a year. there are 3 divisions reporting to this job. they are: you will manage three divisions: (1) freight - class a cdl, (2) express - non cdl & class b, (3) driver training school - class a cdl drivers. some of the other key components of the job are:

upholds the profitability and values of the company on the operational level such as minimizing labor cost, increasing resource utilization, and maximizing revenue.collaborates with senior leadership to establish strategic plans to achieve high-level revenue, safety, and performance goals.directs, guides, and evaluates the performance of drivers and operations management.produces reports and presentations to address issues and provide strategic plans. leads project teams, delegate responsibilities, and see projects through.leverages customer relationships and other leads to outreach for new opportunities. works with sales team to close deals.deciphers and analyzes data from numerous reports from various sources; draw connections to ensure best business decisions are made.collaborates with teams from multiple departments (finance, payroll, and operations) and divisions on weekly shared responsibilities.builds good rapport with employees at all levels and vendors. maintains active communication with team to avoid disruption to workflow and ensure work volume is manageable.
