clinic director job summary:

adhering to principles consistent with the american physical therapy association (apta) code of ethics and standards of practice, the clinic director provides for the evaluation, rehabilitation, treatment and prevention of chronic conditions, illnesses, and/or musculoskeletal injuries.  in addition, the clinic director is responsible for the direct management and oversight of the assigned clinic and its staff in coordination with the front office manager, area manager and regional manager.  an active or pending state license to practice physical therapy is required.

clinic director essential duties and responsibilities:

evaluates all patients referred for physical therapy completes and submission of all reports pertaining to the evaluation via emr sees that all referral sources are advised of clinic action for the case referred maintains a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the clinic confers with person’s most closely associated with the active management of the patient and to keep them informed of any additional patient needs, treatment modifications and/or progress treats patients of all ages (e.g. infants, children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, elderly, ages 0-120 years), race, creed, gender, and disability without bias or prejudice respects and understands the patient’s right to treatment and right to involvement in treatment decisions practices ethical responsibility based on the cultural, ethnic and religious beliefs of the patients served and applicable law prepares and submits clinic reports via emr, assuring confidentiality and following all hipaa guidelines to include initial evaluations and summaries, daily treatment notes for all patients seen that day under his/her care, progress reports to referring physicians and agencies, discharge reports and summaries, special reports and daily attendance records and summaries ensures clinic maintains a warm, friendly and welcoming relationship with all patients, pivot staff, all medical and non-medical professionals, vendors and visitors excels in the area of customer service; monitors and trains this expectation to staff adheres to pivot’s policies, procedures and core values collaborates with front office coordinator to ensure the clinic excels in scheduling, billing, emr core functions efficiently and accurately uses and teaches technology used in the office, and any software required to complete his/her job or as required by management routinely completes all of hipaa privacy and security training as required by pivot management team and ensures compliance to these privacy policies within their clinic reviews resumes, completes phone screens for potential candidate(s), completes interviews and makes offers to new hire(s) following pivot’s hiring procedures ensures all new hires receive proper training and mentorship and reviews and completes all associated paperwork  in a timely manner completes and/or oversees direct reports 30-60-90 day or 45-90 day reviews, yearly reviews and disciplinary action, as per pivot’s policies, in a timely manner reviews, manages, evaluates, approves & submits to direct reports self / employee(s) pay-role, expense reports, in a timely manner as directed by management manages self / employees regarding paid time off (pto), personal days, etc. available on-site to coach and develop staff, answer questions, deploy new work initiatives as directed by upper management performs and ensures all critical operational tasks of the clinic including, but not limited: cet team audits, proper scheduling, maintain productivity standards (kpi’s), hours of operations, front desk coverage, tech/aide coverage and deployment, vacation coverage, charge methodology, ensure quality clinical care, data entry into software system; co-payment collections; unauthorized visits; effectively communicates this information to direct clinical staff works directly with the area manager to utilize pt floater appropriately, if applicable supports the clinic and clinical staff and occasionally assumes these responsibilities in their absence ensures all employees look professional and abide by the uniform policy ensures that the clinic is neat, organized and clean performs inventory, order, and ensures ordered supplies are within budget for the clinic understands and reviews pnl’s for the clinic and communicate budget variances with area manager and clinic staff participates in regular meetings and attends any training as requested / approved by senior management remains flexible in regards to clinic hours and schedule participates in bi-weekly meetings with regional managers, sales team, and area managers for coordination of sales and operational efforts within region attends sales luncheons or community outreach events within the area completes weekly clinic productivity report and ensures accuracy collaborates with area managers to evaluate and review all sales collateral within the area works directly with front office coordinators to ensure proper protocols and procedures are followed by the clinic participates in recruitment, perform performance reviews, and mentor/coach staff works directly with clinical excellence team to ensure proper procedures are followed as related to clinical mentorship program and student programs; must also be a clinical mentor participates with senior management team to create and modify clinic budget completes all reporting directed by senior management within time frame given immediately communicates any changes from clinic normal operations to include but not limited to: facility maintenance issues, it related issues, weather, changes in hour of operations, staffing, incident reports, and disciplinary actions responds to all communications with employees, management, physicians, vendors, and patients within a timely manner to ensure effective communication

clinic director required education, certifications and licenses:

graduate of a capte accredited school of physical therapy or a school approved by the world congress of physical therapy with preferably a doctorate of physical therapy; experience: previous experience in management and outpatient setting preferred state licensure or be eligible for state licensure current cpr card
