Construction estimator location: merritt island, fl 32953 direct hire position salary - based on experience our client is an established & locally well-known construction firm is rapidly growing, and we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction estimator to join our team of professionals. our client is a residential & commercial general contractor that works mainly in the brevard county, fl area. the ideal candidate will have previous experience in estimating, construction project management, be organized, motivated, detail-oriented and driven. estimator responsibilities will include: • developing estimates and bids for both residential & commercial construction projects • completing take-offs to gather information for bids • reading plans and specifications • understanding and navigating building codes • visit new sites, existing buildings and pre-bid meetings necessary to prepare the estimate • designing solutions for customer•s problems • operating company estimating system to develop bids and estimates • communicate with trade partners and team members regarding new and current projects • ensure timely completion of estimates • obtains bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price • maintains cost keys and price masters by updating information • understand scope of work to bid • manage solicitation & bid pricing from all vendors • prepare cost analysis • establish and maintain working relationships with vendors and subcontractors • perform complex analysis of collected data and metrics • prepare relevant and reliable forecasts • conduct complex risk analysis activities • create and present reports to upper management • analyze and evaluate offers estimator required skills & qualifications: • previous working experience as construction estimator for (3-5) years • strong math skills including basic arithmetic, algebra and geometry. • knowledge of microsoft office products with a focus on microsoft word and excel. • strong computer skills. • knowledge of building code. • ability to read and navigate plans and specifications. • good interpersonal and written communication skills. • detailed oriented. • in-depth knowledge of project management & the construction process • good time-management skills • ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines • critical-thinker and problem-solver company core values are dependable, industrious (hard working), honest, and strive for excellence apply now for consideration! appleone is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. pursuant to applicable state and municipal fair chance laws and ordinances, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
