this position will be based out of the pst facility located in orangeburg, ny and will report into the director of supply chain and commercialization, in the electronic deposition materials division of pst. the edm business produces and sells products and processes related to targets and electronic materials used in physical vapor deposition for semiconductor and flat panel display processing

this product manager role is responsible for driving the profitable growth of key products in the business with annual revenue well over $100mm. specifically, the incumbent will lead the planning, verification, forecasting, purchasing, supplying, pricing, and marketing of these key products throughout the product lifecycle. the role will also play a critical role in the strategy for product development and product launch including providing business justification for the development and launch. this strategic position focuses on a thorough understanding of the cost to serve of those products across various global manufacturing platforms for the electronic materials global business and will develop tactics for successful penetration into the market. strategic approaches to gain new customers, prioritizing existing customers and competitive analysis of similar products is critical for success of the product manager position. this position will work closely with salespeople in relationships with key customers, the supply chain management team related to material suppliers and outsourced manufacturing and operations, engineering, and r&d related to technical requirements and manufacturing capabilities related to those products.

drive profitable growth of the products improve profitability of the product through pricing and operational improvements drive productivity improvement for the products drive cost, quality, and lead time improvements manage purchasing decisions based on customer forecasting perform competitive analysis of products in conjunction with sales, bd and outside resources lead pricing management through coordination with the sales organization lead negotiating agreements with key raw material suppliers and service providers as they would impact the strategic products planning and managing product development for new applications including coordinating r&d, engineering, operation, sales, and other groups as required gather market intelligence from internal and external sources and manages the process in accordance with the company’s compliance requirements to maintain competitive advantage.

bachelor’s degree in business, engineering or supply chain with 5 years prior experience; or 5 years of business experience in a strategy/marketing/sales/production and/or related functions with a proven proficiency in business analysis, interpreting financial reports, and developing competitive strategies. ability to work with highly technical engineers, buyers, sales and operations personnel ability to deal with ambiguous data and interpret to make critical decisions very strong analytical and financial skillsexcellent oral and written communication, and presentation skills required. proven ability to lead and work effectively across all levels and functions in the organization ability to conceptualize, negotiate and sell ideas internally and externally. ability to implement concepts, ideas and plans while functioning in a dynamic matrix organization. ability to perform market and competitive assessments ability to conduct customer interviews advanced knowledge of microsoft suite, oracle or similar system, analytical software. data mining and analysis skills good emotional intelligence, relationship management and social and self-awareness must be a strong team player who can work independently in a complex, technical and international environment. ability to travel 5-10%, potential international customer visits

preferred qualifications

mba or advanced degree preferred. 8 or more years of business experience in a strategy/marketing/sales/production and/or related functions with a proven proficiency in business analysis, interpreting financial reports, and developing competitive strategies. six sigma/lean certification project management certification knowledge of the semiconductor market and its operations
