The new york independent system operator (nyiso) applies cutting-edge technology to operating a reliable electricity system, managing competitive markets for wholesale electricity, and planning for the empire state's energy future. the nyiso’s market structures department invites applications for a full-time senior product business analyst for the energy market products team. we are looking for an individual who is a self-starter, enjoys working in a dynamic team environment and possess superb requirement elicitation and relationship management skills.
the energy market products team supports the energy markets and operations and reliability products and is engaged in multiple key initiatives critical to the evolution of the wholesale electric marketplace. the senior product business analyst will function as a crucial partner bringing the needs of the nyiso business units and market participants to the project teams. the successful candidate will elicit, document, prioritize and communicate functional and technical business requirements and work closely with all stakeholders to develop and implement desired solutions.
bachelor's degree (bs or ba) business, engineering, math, computer science, or other related technical field required. a minimum of seven years related analyst experience performing increasingly more complex and technical analyses, including development of high level and detailed business requirements for use in software development.  experience with software development life cycle methodology.  must have excellent verbal and written communication and management skills. ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, market participants and the general public. international institute of business analysis (iiba) certificate strongly desired. the nyiso takes pride in recruiting, developing and retaining highly talented individuals. in addition to competitive salaries, we offer a comprehensive benefits package and innovative reward programs.
