true value company, a global wholesaler serving retail locations in 60 countries, has an immediate need for an inbound/ outbound manager - 1st shift at our harvard regional distribution center.the inbound / outbound manager will oversee all operations; either receiving and stocking for inbound or the order filling and shipping functions for outbound. the manager will work to maintain a safe work environment. they will also perform daily operations assuring efficient product flow, monitor daily performance of associates and key metrics, and manage quality improvement. responsible for following and making associates aware of company policy and procedures. assist the  general operations manager by managing the distribution of products to assure maximum efficiency, quality, and service at the least possible cost. directs planning to assure optimum performance related to cost efficiency. helps manage associate relations programs and issues, where appropriate.

position description
manages associates and work flow within the departments by working with functional area supervisors.
monitors associate performance and maintains work rules to ensure a high level of member retailer service.
coordinates work flow with the rdc leadership team, and manages supervisors of their functional area. they may also directly supervise some hourly associates.
ensures the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of work completion within the department.
works directly with associates to establish and foster a strong working relationship to support and enhance work performance.
involved with associate training and development, job requirements and safety requirements.
develops and fosters an atmosphere of high associate morale through an active, fair, and consistent implementation of policies and procedures.
ensures the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of all outbound shipments as assigned.
works directly with members-vendors-customers to establish and foster a strong relationship related to warehousing and or, delivery functions.
other duties as assigned

position qualifications
educational requirements: bachelor’s degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in the logistics industry.
excellent communication skills both written and oral.
proven leadership in a comparable environment. 
decision-making, problem-solving and analytical skills.
pc skills including proficiency in use of ms word & excel.
strong knowledge of wms/rf.
