overview:

payroll specialist will be the liaison to coordinate all payroll-related activities with trinet. as we transition from the peo model to the implementation of ukg, our new integrated hr and payroll system, this position will be the payroll subject matter expert to work closely with the hr, finance and ukg project team to deliver all payroll-related tasks, including state registrations, payroll testing and auditing to ensure a successful payroll transition and launch in ukg. the successful candidate is experienced with payroll processing and new state registrations, is highly organized, detail-oriented, and can thrive in a high growth and results-oriented environment.

responsibilities:


trinet payroll

partner with key stakeholders in hr and finance to coordinate semi-monthly multi-state us payroll-related activitiescoordinate with hr team to ensure all new hire, termination and other pay-related changes are accurately reflected and processed for payroll in trinetcalculate and coordinate applicable retro-pay based on new hire start datescoordinate special payroll to process sign-on bonus and other spot bonus awardscalculate and coordinate applicable pay adjustments for loa requestsreview payroll register and coordinate approval with finance team prior to each payroll processingcoordinate final paycheck requests for terminationsprocess year-end bonusesprocess espp deductions and reimbursements as necessaryverify 401(k) deductions and match are processed properlyprovide support for other payroll-related projects, as needed


ukg payroll implementation

drive process for new state registrations and ensure withholding tax, sui and other applicable local taxes are applied for in a timely mannerensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll, wage and hour laws and best practices are followedparticipate in uat to ensure successful deployment of payroll module in ukgparticipate in system integration projects and testing related to payroll to ensure accurate data flow for payroll processingcoordinate extraction of historical payroll data from trinet and validation of data upload to ukg during implementationcoordinate audit processes to ensure accurate payroll data migration to ukgpartner with finance team to ensure all change control processes are followed as documented in sox and internal controlsestablish effective partnership with vendors and third-party consultants to ensure all deliverables are met for payroll module launch in ukg


qualifications

bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience3-5 years of relevant experience in us payroll administrationprior experience with multi-state us payroll processingknowledge of federal and state payroll tax compliance requirementsexperience with new state registrationsexperience with trinet and ukg payroll strongly preferredexperience with trinet transition and ukg payroll implementation strongly preferredstrong proficiency in excel to manage data audits, analysis and reportingability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple and/or conflicting prioritiesability to adapt to changing priorities in a fluid, fast growing and ambiguous environment, while maintaining consistency and work qualitystrong attention to detail and organizational skillsexcellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience partnering across all levels of the organizationability to build effective partnerships with cross-functional teams (e.g., hr, finance, external vendors and consultants, etc.)ability to demonstrate high level of professionalism and maintain confidentiality at all timesability to work independently with good judgement to escalate issues as neededproficient with hr systems, microsoft office suite and related softwareexperience in biotech preferredsr. payroll specialist (biotech)
