the government health management systems product team in the boeing global services digital aviation & analytics organization, is looking for a highly motivated mid-level application security engineer (virtual). the engineer will be part of a team supporting the development of the f/a-18 automated maintenance environment. the engineer will support software development by continuously evaluating and mitigating the systems security posture per dod requirements.


position responsibilities:

scan software source code for vulnerabilities using commercial toolsanalyzes scan results and determines appropriate disposition of findingscontributes to certification and accreditation package for software with an active dod authority to operate

this position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and does not require applicants to live in hazelwood, mo.


this position requires the ability to obtain a us security clearance for which the us government requires us citizenship. an interim and/or final u.s. secret clearance post start is required.


basic qualifications (required skills/experience):

bachelor, master or doctorate of science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry, or other relevant technical field. abet is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.certified application security engineer (case), security+, a cissp certification, or equivalent cyber security certification (cissp preferred)

preferred qualifications (desired skills/experience):

3+ years of experience in an engineering role1+ years of experience in application security engineeringexperience scanning software source code with industry toolsexperience analyzing source code scan results and determining appropriate dispositions

typical education/ experience:

education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. phd, master+3 years' related work experience). in the usa, abet accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
