in your new role you will

provide total machine cell / group leadership with respect to safety, quality, cost, on time delivery, lean production and compliance

monitor and improve safety on the shop floor; eliminate any unsafe operations and ensure a safe and clean production environment.

ensures processing needs to assure fixtures, tooling and methods are provided.

meet schedules and production requirements.

determines priorities and schedules the sequence of jobs.

determines overtime need, determines priorities when resources are insufficient, and decides when disciplinary action is necessary.

produces product to meet quality standards while maintaining cost.

ensures necessary parts and materials are ordered and distributed in a timely and efficient manner.

suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency. works to improve processes, timeliness and reduce costs by eliminating non-value added activities.

ensures preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule.

implement various corporate initiatives such as 5s, lean tools, 6 sigma, internal certification, etc.

evaluate, assess, and identify training needs of the workforce.

ensures training and effective utilization of work force.

owns the value stream map for their respective section. partners with support groups in the implementation of changes needed to achieve future state.

adjusts section staffing to meet flow and customer requirements

practices and teaches lean guiding principles.

initiates and conducts process improvement dialogs with team leads and team members.

drives root cause identification. drives continuous improvement process.

reports section status. monitors and audits pqvc metrics.

assists with creating, training and implementing standard work

requires a thorough knowledge of lean processes and tools, machine shop, operations, equipment and processes plus familiarity with materials and quality objectives.

reports to the operations manager.

top candidate will have

college degree or its equivalent is required for this position.

prior experience in planning and/or shop experience is desirable.

good human relations skills are required to develop a cooperative work relationship with others inside and outside the department.
