caterpillar uses advanced analytics to solve a wide variety of critical business problems. this position is focused on the use of analytics to improve and grow the aftermarket parts portfolio. a high-performing aftermarket parts portfolio is foundational to delivering on the enterprise “2x by 2026” services growth strategy. this is a multi-disciplined role that will require technical familiarity of caterpillar parts, service parts systems and processes, ability to organize and prioritize complex problems, leadership experience, and strong interpersonal skills.
this position is to lead projects in the psld transformation analytics team. the analytics team is supporting the psld transformation and cross-vertical transformation programs. the team conducts data aggregation, visualization, and analysis to develop business insights enabling transformation governance and parts portfolio optimization.
job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
lead projects to leverage data analytics to optimize parts processes, from engineering to lifecycle management to profitability and services growth
value stream map parts processes to identify systemic gaps and develop and deploy permanent corrective actions with supporting process control visualization
leverage a breadth and depth of knowledge in the application of analytics methods and tools to solve business problems
create analytics solutions for deployment within the transformation department and across the psld division
maintaining communication with key stakeholders to deliver on commitments as measured against business requirements.

basic qualifications:
position requires a four year degree from an accredited college or university.
minimum 5 years’ experience in one or more of the following caterpillar functional areas - engineering, supply chain, product support, parts distribution, procurement, and/or digital/it.
deep expertise in analytics solution development and information system development practices.
strong statistical analysis skills
proven project leadership experience with exceptional organizational and deep analytical skills.
excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively across divisions.
strong communications and facilitation skills,
the ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile and fast-paced environment.
top candidates will also have:
bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, data analytics, or mathematics
a minimum of 3 years’ experience in aftermarket parts – systems or processes
experience with 6 sigma and/or lean tools.
expertise in caterpillar information system processes and policies
strong machine learning / artificial intelligence skills
agile development experience
