schedule: this position will be off shift work (tues, thurs, fri and sat: 11:00 am-7:00 pm and wednesdays 12:00 pm-8:00 pm. following an approximately 3 month training period during 1st shift, m-f, 9am-5pm)

responsibilities:
provides technical assistance for next generation sequencing, microarray and/or other genomic analyses. prepares samples for sequencing on various next generation sequencing platforms. this work will be performed in a core lab environment where the same assays will be performed routinely. maintains, operates and troubleshoots problems for laboratory equipment. provides assistance when needed to other groups. performs additional functions incidental to core lab activities under the supervision of the lab managers and the facility directors. researches and collects data through complex laboratory/ scientific experiments, techniques, and procedures; library research; structured interviews; or through other means for designated research assignments. records and compiles information related to research data. codes data accordingly to research specifications. uses a computer terminal to input and retrieve data and to generate reports. processes and summarizes data using scientific or statistical techniques. assists in data interpretation and analyses. reports on status of research activities. sets up, operates and maintains laboratory equipment and apparatus. formulates and prepares scientific solutions and media. recruits study participants. orders and maintains inventory of supplies. may assist in designing, developing, and modifying research experiments, procedures, or survey instruments. may oversee and instruct research staff. performs additional functions incidental to research activities. requirements: bachelors in molecular biology or biology. knowledge of or familiarity with illumina platform and protocols next gen sequencing and experience w/ pipettes joule, a system one division is a leader in specialized workforce solutions and integrated services. with more than 6,000 employees and roughly 50 offices throughout the u.s. we provide scientific, clinical, engineering, energy, it, legal and administrative staffing services. for more than 40 years, we have delivered workforce solutions and integrated services to clients nationally.
