robert half is looking for a human resource generalist for a growing company in hilton head, sc. if you are passionate about human resources and would like to share your skills with this amazing company, this position is for you. this role will involve various hr duties, including recruiting, conducting new permanent orientation, updating the employee handbook, and managing employee relations.
your responsibilities
- develop employee engagement plans, including budget approvals and management oversite
- collaborate with employees, upper management, and third-party vendors
- create official internal documents such as offer letters, appointment letters, salary adjustments, updates to the employee handbook, leave of absences, and warning/termination letters
- manage digital and physical files for employees and their documents, including benefits, attendance records, and annual reviews
- develop onboarding plans and train newly hired employees on hr policies, internal procedures, and regulations
- work with other members of the hr department to oversee the hiring and onboarding process for new company employees
- compare local, state, and federal laws to current internal policies and procedures
- develop templates for hr documents, including the employee handbook
- manage employee relations, including coordinating sensitive conversations and engaging employee
- assess employee performance, including appraising pay scales, assisting with annual reviews, and coordinating disciplinary action (including terminations if necessary)
- create & /or support a recruitment plan according to operational and business projections
- accountable for completing various tasks and the daily operations of the hr department- experience using applicant tracking systems (ats) and human resources information systems (hris)

- proficient with social media platforms as well as office computer applications and software

- able to work independently as well as part of a team with flexibility and willingness to learn and to take initiative on variety of tasks and projects

- excellent written and verbal business skills

- prior hr generalist experience preferred

- the responsibilities of this position will require you to be highly detail oriented; able to use good judgment and maintain a high level of confidentiality and sensitivity

- b.a. or b.s. degree preferred, preferably with a human resources or psychology emphasis

- proven understanding local, state and federal laws

- experience with full cycle recruiting

- prior experience or knowledge managing open enrollment is a plus
