position specific description

nextera energy is seeking an individual who is a subject matter expert (sme) in operation and maintenance practices of battery, solar inverter systems and associated control systems.  the position will provide local and remote support for equipment maintenance, operation and troubleshooting for the solar and storage operations team.  knowledge and/or hands on experience with solar and/or energy storage field troubleshooting and repair is desirable.  position location is tbd based on candidate.  other duties will include: 
•    work and play safely.  actively demonstrate caring for the safety and wellbeing of the individual and team at all times
•    facilitate technical training of site personnel including ojt evaluations
•    collaborate with other regional/central smes as part of the advanced troubleshooting or rapid response team
•    share process knowledge in safety, environmental, & maintenance practices and procedures with the center of work excellence
•    replicate knowledge through the power generation division on-line technician forums  
•    bachelor's degree in engineering and/or a minimum of five (5) years previous power plant or relative experience is highly preferred.  experience on storage systems, solar system or other power plant experience is highly desired.  six sigma certification is preferred
•    knowledge of safe work practices 
•    high quality written and verbal communication skills desired
•    travel within the midwest region will be 40% - 60% or more dependent on maintenance and outage schedules
•    perform other job-related duties as assigned
