local unit & position description

join the team that is developing software products and solutions used across the energy value chain. dnv energy use services group is seeking a business analyst. think strategically and apply skills in it development and digitization: gather market information, interview customers, develop user stories and acceptance criteria, run sprints, develop systems, tools and processes for scale, work with customers and the product team to collect feedback and iterate, support on design sprints for new product ideas.this position can be remote from anywhere in the continental u.s.what you'll do

developing and documenting user stories and/or business requirement documentation for energy efficiency programs and systems translating measure specifications into measure application templates analyze program data such as energy savings, incentive calculations and application status to create management reports to streamline operations identify and create specifications for data base improvements perform data base (access, oracle and sql server) queries and program data analysis as requested from client develop, streamline, and automate energy efficiency program processes actively engage with the energy use services team and other colleagues across functions, sharing knowledge and ideas in support of innovation and customer success

position qualifications

what is required

bachelor's degree in an analytical discipline 5+ years of experience analyzing data, preparing data intensive reports, developing inferences from the data 3+ years' experience sql 2+ years' experience with business intelligence software (powerbi, tableau, other) a proven grasp of database and analysis tools such as access, oracle, sql server and excel, and demonstrated analytical skills to solve business issues. in excel, an expert level skill with all functions including pivot tables and vlookup and sum functions  successful track record in working closely with engineering teams to deliver large, cross-functional projects on fast-paced schedules the successful candidate should also have excellent written and oral communication skills for customer and client communication we conduct pre-employment drug and background screening

what is preferred

bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent energy efficiency, renewable energy, or energy storage experience is preferred jira (administration) python mba

as required by the colorado equal pay transparency act, dnv provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in colorado. actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. for the state of colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $100,000-130,000usd.
