job qualifications:typically requires a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or phd in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; twenty or more years of experience with a bachelor’s degree, eighteen or more years of experience with a master’s degree, or fifteen or more years with a phd. may substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education. must be a recognized expert in space control systems engineering and concept development as demonstrated by one or more of the following:original work(s) published in national and international professional engineering journalsinvited presentations to national or international engineering symposiumsparticipation as chair on national and international engineering review panelsengineering patents heldhas demonstrated leadership and creativity in directing/developing the solution(s) to highly technical and complex engineering problems, and is influential in attracting and retaining engineering business as well as key professional staff.must possess the ability to:shape the resolution of unusually complex technical problemschampion the development of new concepts and principlesserve as an expert spokesperson for those concepts or principles.must also possess outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, be customer focused, and able to work on a self-initiated basis or in a team environment.able to work extended hours and travel as required.a professional engineering license is desirable.
