pay rate: $18.00/hr.


hiring manager is looking for someone who is a team player who can grow and learn the position. it is important that the right candidates has a good work ethic and understands the importance of following zoetis sops for the site so that production can be run smooth and efficiently.

**especially interested in candidates that have experience in operating an autoclave to sterilize productive equipment such as tubing, glassware, stir bars as well as plastic beakers and carboys.

position summary
the production technician is an important member of the team that manufactures and provides animal diagnostics products to the companion animal and large animal market. he/she works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations. normally receives general instruction on routine work, general instruction on new assignments.

position responsibilities
to successfully completed at least 6 months hands on experience in a supporting role in a manufacturing environment. to learn how to setup, operate, clean and maintained various production equipment. to become more proficient in equipment operation, labeling, and final packaging, more complex assignments will be assigned such as: document control/data entry or glassware sterilization.

i. timely manufacture of product
• responsible for preparing or setting up appropriate production areas for use prior to starting a job.
• responsible for ordering all materials needed for a production run; making sure that materials are on hand prior to starting the job.
• responsible for obtaining all manufacturing documents needed for a production run. responsible for reviewing manufacturing documents for accuracy and proper completion.
• no delays in production must occur due to the area not being ready for use or not having materials and documents on hand at the start of the job.
• responsible for ordering supplies as needed for manufacturing department use. adequate inventory of supplies to be maintained, and no delays in manufacturing may occur due to shortage of production supplies.
• responsible for maintaining a journal of daily scheduled job assignments.
• the above mentioned responsibilities must be completed to ensure the timely manufacture of product with no delays in the production schedule.

ii. inventory control
• responsible for the pulling of all materials used on jobs from inventory.
• responsible for ensuring that time is posted to each job, document is completed and closed in a timely fashion so that products are entered into inventory.
• responsible for returning all excess production material to the appropriate location.
• ensure that completed jobs are entered into appropriate log books.

iii. training staff
• responsible for training production tech i in machine operation, maintenance and cleaning. also train production techs in proper job documentation and process techniques for all processes involved in production.

iv. regulatory compliance
• responsible for accurate documentation of the manufacture of all product components and subcomponents. daily reviews by the supervisor must indicate that all entries are complete. all part numbers, lot numbers, unit of measure, amount used and calculations are correct.
• responsible for ensuring production techs follow the instructions contained in the sops and manufacturing documents. any and all deviations from the documents must first be approved by the supervisor, then signed and dated by the operator.
• responsible for the professional behavior of the production techs and ensuring that cgmp are followed on all production operations.

v. housekeeping
• responsible for maintaining the production areas in a clean and uncluttered condition.
• responsible for the cleaning of the production areas as specified in sop 6.4-2, such that the bioburden limits outlined in sop 7.5.1-1 are not exceeded.
• responsible for maintaining cleaning log books for each production area.

education and experience
requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

nice to have 6-12 months related experience in a related manufacturing environment.
nice to have 6-12 months experience in kit component assembly and final packaging.
nice to have 6-12 months experience in aseptic liquid reagent fill operation.

requires a minimum of 1 year experience using computers, label applicators, scales/balances, shrink wrap machines and sterile gowning technique.

technical skills and competencies requirements

• comply with all safety procedures and all sections of the company illness & injury prevention program.
• ensure that all products are manufactured in conformance with sops, cgmp and any other regulatory requirements.
• recommend adjustments to work procedures to meet production schedules.
• recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
• suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department.
• learn and master the set-up, operation, cleaning and maintenance of machines and equipment.
• report machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.
• request training pertaining to equipment malfunctions.

physical position requirements
ability to work flexible hours with occasional overtime
ability to routinely lift 20-50 pounds
constant periods of standing

some overtime may be required.
