Batching technician - 3rd shift - united states, chesterfield inlet

adecco staffing is working with a manufacturing plant in chester, vt who is looking bring on additional personnel in their batching department on 3rd shift! this is a temp-hire position.

hours: 11:00pm – 7:00am

overtime: available

pay rate: $19.00-$20.00/hour with raises based off performance and attendance.

summary:

perform various duties in the preparation and production of multiple food products. direct work of mix technicians. perform assigned responsibilities to support the safe and productive manufacture of quality product and to meet the goals of the company.

principal duties & responsibilities:

  • perform duties required of a mix technician. foster a positive and productive work environment by being a role model.
  • direct mix technicians and department operations to maintain pace and ensure that production schedule is being met. monitor that employees are scheduled and utilized effectively. prioritize & assign departmental tasks.
  • assist with the development of mix department safety procedures and train technicians. monitor and enforce compliance with all rules and use of safety equipment as necessary.
  • assist with the assurance of product quality and that departmental processes conform to sops and other commonly accepted standards. monitor and enforce adherence to all quality control procedures and gmps.
  • assist with training of batching technicians.
  • troubleshoot equipment problems during production runs to insure seamless operations. fix problems as they arise to minimize potential for interruption of service.
  • follow lot control procedures and fifo. work closely with production staff, qa specialist and warehouse personnel on such matters.
  • communicate with subsequent shifts and departments to have all equipment and materials ready for the start of the next production run.
  • with maintenance and sanitation staff, ensure equipment is proactively maintained.
  • keep the batching supervisor / manager informed of machine breakdowns, production being off schedule, personnel issues, safety concerns and injuries and any other irregular or non-standard occurrence.
  • maintain inventory levels of production related equipment/tools and supplies.
  • report system adjustment information such as waste, scrap, spillage, etc.
  • complete all required paperwork for department and prepare/maintain necessary documentation or records.
  • suggest changes in sops and departmental activities to increase efficiency and improve operation.
  • collaborate, communicate and meet with managers and other appropriate personnel to accomplish company goals. plan for, facilitate and attend department meetings as required.
  • physical demand - employees must be able to:

  • lift 65 lbs. from a bending, standing, or stooping position safely and comfortably.
  • bend, lift, climb, twist, reach, lean over, pull, push, stoop and stand on concrete floor on a regular basis and for long periods of time.
  • perform repetitive motor functions from a standing position for extended periods (three-four hours).
  • tolerate moderate to loud noise, fluctuating temperatures and wet working environment.
  • qualifications:

  • hs diploma or ged
  • ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and through written documentation. ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • ability to comprehend, utilize and adjust computer controlled production equipment.
  • ability to reason with and apply basic math, including use of calculator.
  • basic mechanical skills.
