daily job responsibilities: 

 

work together with employees from nonprofit partners who are responsible for counting and documenting each child who receives a meal. serve as a representative of the program in the community: 

 

1. build trust at each stop with parents, children, site monitors, apartment managers, and community members to maximize the number of children served. this is not direct interaction with children, only the representatives at these sites who will provide counts and feedback. 

2. be creative in responding to challenges (e.g., rain) and take initiative to maximize the number of members of the community served. 

3. ability to problem solve. 

4. ensure all policies and procedures are followed 

5. wear a clean food for good uniform shirt daily 

6. make it to each stop on time and follow process for proper delivery of food. 

 

manage daily inventory: 

1. check outgoing inventory each morning: quantities, temperature and supplies 

2. keep accurate count of meals served at each stop 

3. count final daily inventory and document any discrepancies with meal count 

4. report daily numbers, stories, and issues to the city manager 

 

ensure food and vehicle safety: 

1. follow safe food handling procedures while setting up tables and unloading cases 

2. safely operate the delivery truck to conduct daily delivery to 10-14 community locations 

3. conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any issues 

 

minimum requirements: 

1. high school diploma or equivalent 

2. must be available every weekday (monday – friday) 

3. must have a valid driver’s license and a 'clear' driving record for the past (3) years is required. successful candidate must be at least 21 years of age. 

4. requires passing a pre-employment testing, background investigation of work history, criminal check, and drug test. 

5. experience in a warehouse or a similarly physically demanding job required. must be able to lift 20 to 30 pound cases repeatedly each day outdoors. on occasion, lifting of 40 pounds may be required. 

6. must be passionate about working with children and serving the community 

7. strong communication skills both written and verbal 

8. delivery experience preferred but not required 

special requirements or call outs: (ex: standing for long hours, lifting requirements, etc.)

must be 18+ years old 

long hours standing: 90-95% of shift 

consistent lifting: 15-50 pounds 

consistent bending, stooping, reaching 

productivity-driven: must work in fast-paced environment

no headphones 

no gum/food on the floor
