we are currently seeking full-time surgical pacu & pain center rn position here in the reno, nv area.
this is a 200 bed, acute care hospital with state of the art equipment and treats all forms of cases such as general surgery, ent, ortho, neurosurgery, open heart and much more.

job summary: functions in the pain center, pacu and pha (preoperative holding area) environment. provides direct patient care to infant through geriatric patient populations. addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. assists with the maintenance of pain center, pha and pacu equipment and inventory. participates in performance improvement activities. assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the care of patients undergoing surgical, pain management, and endoscopic procedures. responsible for monitoring patient’s physiological status in the immediate postoperative environment. communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist immediately and as needed about patient condition; receives direction for patient management. intercedes to maintain optimum homeostasis. proficient in pain management, guidelines and medication dosing. maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and hospital policies, procedures and standards.
qualifications:
previous experience in nursing or other medical fields
familiarity with medical software and equipment
ability to build rapport with patients
strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
must have an unencumbered rn license
