the butlin's chef academy is a job and opportunity like no other! whether you have worked in kitchens before, or you are starting out, this job will give you the skills and knowledge to really get stuck in as an integral part of our amazing kitchen teams.

the butlin's chef academy is a blend of earning and learning. you will attend a two week residential programme at our amazing training kitchen in minehead where you will learn everything from how to prep and set up your work station through to filleting fish, butchery skills and patisserie work. from there you will then spend 2-3 months in up to five different restaurant operations learning how to excel in every part of the kitchen operation. throughout the year long programme you will also be invited to attend skills development and experience weeks where we will work with a range of our suppliers to introduce you to new cuisines, culinary skills and a deeper awareness of the journey our food takes from field to fork. these experiences include visits to places like billingsgate fish market, seasonal produce farms, borough market, birtwhistles butchers and many, many more.

so what sort of person are we looking for?

* for us, it is all about your attitude.

* if you are positive, ready to work hard but have fun, open to learning and getting stuck in and a real team player then you will fit right in.

* if you have worked in kitchens before then that is great, but if not, then no worries as we will teach you everything you need to know (and then some!)

* there will be lots of training in things like food safety and health and safety, as well as specialist training around the food and menus that you will be delivering in the restaurant you are a part of.

* day to day, you will be an essential part of your kitchen brigade, preparing, cooking and serving a wide range of dishes that help make our guests have the most amazing time on their breaks and holidays with us.

* no two days are the same but that is what makes working in our kitchens such a great place to learn.
