Electrical technician- 1st shift - united states, manchester

adecco is working with a manufacturing client in manchester, nh who is looking for an electrical technician on 1st shift! this is a direct hire opportunity.

pay: 

  • $28.00 per hour
  • schedule: 

  • monday through friday 7:00am-3:30pm
  • job objective:

    perform skilled electrical maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment and systems in an industrial manufacturing environment with ability to perform mechanical repairs and maintenance as needed

    job responsibilities:

  • performs maintenance and repairs to all machinery, equipment and systems in the plant. this includes adjustments, calibrations, troubleshooting, installations, monitoring and other duties required to minimize downtime on both manufacturing and facility equipment.
  • develops and maintains a comprehensive knowledge of the electrical service and distribution systems in the plant.
  • provides electrical service and lighting to machinery and equipment including planning and layout of conduit, wiring and other electrical devices and materials for machine operation.
  • develops a comprehensive knowledge of the various electrical devices used on plant equipment to include plc’s, ac/dc drives, motor controllers, positioning devices, motion control systems, network systems, user interfaces and related machine controls.
  • develops, maintains, coordinates and performs pm and pdm requirements for plant machinery and equipment with a focus on reducing downtime and improving machine performance with respect to electrical, electronic and control system operation.
  • completes all necessary administrative requirements related to job functions including, enterprise asset management system documentation, shift notes, records, logs and email. assists in maintaining machine documentation archives updated and organized.
  • works with the mro technician to maintain adequate stockroom parts levels using the automated inventory system to ensure minimum machine down time. may order parts and communicates with suppliers, vendors and technical representatives as needed.
  • assists and cooperates with company engineers for equipment and/or facility modifications and upgrades. communicates equipment or modification status to peers and superiors.
  • reads and interprets blue prints, drawings, machine documentation and manufacturer specifications for troubleshooting, performance issues or determining pm/pdm requirements. recommends machine performance or operation improvements.
  • coordinates, directs and monitors work performed by contractors as needed.
  • responsible for supporting the policy commitments of the iso 14001 environmental management system. responsible for following established environmental procedures supporting reduction of the company’s overall environmental impact.
  • maintains a safe work environment according to company safety policies and procedures and osha regulations.
  •  performs emergency response duties as directed by emergency response coordinators.
  • job qualifications:

  • journeyman electricians license. maintain electrical code update.
  • five years of electrical and controls experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • knowledge and experience with plc’s, ac/dc drives and other industrial control components/devices.
  • good mechanical abilities and experience with mechanical machine maintenance/repair
  • ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical diagrams and drawings.
  • good electrical craftsmanship – ability to bend pipe/conduit and perform quality installation of electrical systems and components.
  • proficient technical skills including ability to utilize electrical meters, calibration devices and other electrical monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
  • excellent communication skills
  • good computer skills and willingness to advance computer skills
  • good decision making skills and ability to prioritize tasks
