on offer is a days-based, monday to friday role where you will be responsible for the quality, health, safety and environmental provisions within an ambitious and highly reputable company.

the role

the qshe manager is responsible for all of the quality assurance, health & safety and environmental, aspects of the business, she/he will supervise, lead and co-ordinate work systems to ensure that all products and services of the company meet the highest quality standards and that the working conditions within the company are safe.
responsible for company’s qhse processes and procedures to ensure the company maintains its accreditations (iso9001 quality standards, iso45001 standard – occupational health and safety).
responsible for identifying, reporting, and raising quality issues/non-conformances then resolving them to ensure zero impact to the customer.
management of the companies qshe training / skills matrix
support production with best practice inspection techniques/ dimensional checks.
analyse existing quality, health, safety and environmental practices and procedures and pro-actively implement changes where necessary.
perform first article inspections, inspection/audits, and dimensional reports. liaise with 3rd party inspection services as required.
coordinate quality assurance activities to prevent the release of non-conforming products
identify issues through internal departmental checks, carry out investigations and audits, identifying root cause and applying and follow up corrective actions
lead quality investigations resulting from customer complaints liaising with the customers as required in a timely manner. attending meetings at client’s sites as required.
support customer and regulatory surveillance visits. accompany third party auditors and ensure the close out of actions arising from audits. support supplier investigations as necessary.
support the implementation of is014001
conduct internal and external audits.
develop and maintain accurate quality documentation, calibration records, sop as required.
report on key performance indicators for the department non-conformances and other relevant metrics.
support production, and other internal departments to further the interests of the company.
carrying out of internal auditing.
maintain awareness of evolving industry qhse regulations and best practice and how they could be applied to the company’s operations
support the company's risk assessment portfolio in conducting, review, communication and consultation towards processes, machines, hazardous substances

experience/ skills

experience in qhse within a manufacturing environment (fabrication would be beneficial)
exposure to iso9001,45001 & 14001 managements systems
capable of producing dimensional reports/ fai in a fabrication environment
competent to conduct internal and supplier audits
able to read and work from fabrication technical information
strong interpersonal and communication skills
strong analytical, problem-solving skills and pro-active work ethic
ideally served an apprenticeship or equivalent in fabrication
knowledge of steel fabrication processes such as laser cutting/punching, press-braking, welding, and powder coating processes

hold nebosh certificate or equivalent level 3 nvq in health and safety
robust knowledge and understanding of quality, health & safety and environmental legislation & best practice
