Business development manager - united kingdom, leeds, west yorkshire

as business development manager - new business (bdm) you will be responsible for driving new business sales opportunities and building an extensive and sustainable sales pipeline for the business in the uk & emea regions.

the goal is to drive sustainable financial growth through boosting new sales and forging strong relationships with new prospects and some selected existing clients. this is predominantly a new business prospecting and acquisition role, with the responsibility for managing some existing clients being a medium - longer term objective.

you will be instrumental in collaborating with other members of the senior management team to devise and implement the strategy for meeting sales performance targets.

location

the company is based in leeds and whilst they will require the successful candidate to attend the office on a regular basis, there is an expectation that there will be significant external activity such as representing the business at networking and industry events. flexible working is also an option to discuss with the successful candidate.

duties and key responsibilities

- creating, managing and following up all new business opportunities

- increasing existing client base

- creating, preparing and delivery of new business proposals and presentations

- creating, negotiating & closing commercial agreements

- developing growth strategies and plans

- managing and retaining relationships with prospects throughout the sales pipeline

- managing the existing hubspot crm

- sales and pipeline reporting

key requirements

- proven working experience as a successful business development manager - or in a relevant new business role

- proven sales track record - with evidence

- working to and exceeding targets

- a positive, "can do" approach with a passion for personal development & relationship building

- strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential as the role is heavily focused on pushing the business in to new client sectors

- strong negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to hold high level conversations to persuade client thinking
