residential support worker

40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

salary range (fte) gbp19,167.84- gbp21,199.46 per annum subject to experience and qualifications

salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. the minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is working alongside children, young people or vulnerable adults with additional needs.

the school

this is a residential college that cater for children with various forms of learning disabilities. they have a strong team and are looking for additional staff to take on a permanent basis straight away. this is a large college that is part of a uk wide umbrella, with lots of campuses in the gloucester area.

in your role as a support worker, you will be focusing on the holistic needs of the students. the students benefit from a range of nutritional, therapeutic and medical support and each college and residential provision.this role can be both physically/emotionally demanding, and you must have the confidence/patience to deal/manage with the challenging behaviours that the young people can present.

requirements

to be considered for the support worker role, you will:

have at least 3 months experience supporting children or young adults with additional needs in a professional setting

be able to manage emotionally challenging situations, be a team player as well as able to work on your own initiative

be able to work flexible hours as this role includes working daytime, weekends, evenings and sleep over shifts

have a strong desire to support young people and have the ability to problem solve and think creatively to help their young people reimagine their potential
