project overview:

in our company's effort to invest in the city of detroit, the future of mobility innovation, and stem education for all. we have signed on as a founding member at michigan central.  we are looking for a program manager to help manage our presence in corktown and help coordinate both our education and innovation programs in the space.  they will work closely with a cross-functional group of employees across partnerships, ads, cloud, android, code next, and grow with our company, among others, as well as the staff at michigan central to ensure that we are making progress on the partnership and delivering on our goals.

 

overall responsibilities:

the program manager will act as our site lead for all things at michigan central.

they will:

solicit and manage volunteers to support the efforts on site and in the community

plan and coordinate events at michigan central and in the community

manage the governance of the innovation agenda set out at michigan central with the other founding members.

project manage innovation projects that our campany is a part of at michigan central

work directly with the various company stakeholders cross-functionally to gain support and resources for our innovation and education efforts at michigan central

prepare regular updates for our team and michigan central leadership on the partnership and progress towards our goals

organize and ensure that the space is being utilized effectively.

top 3 daily responsibilities:

project manage the innovation projects and governance is a part of at michigan central

coordinate with volunteers across education, innovation, and mentorship pillars of our partnership

manage the use of the space at michigan central

skill/experience/education

mandatory

education:

bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, organizational change, communication, education, social work, or other related fields.

certificate in relevant field, or equivalent experience.

6+ years experience in program / project manager or site leadership.

experience managing complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders

have a solid understanding of the tech industry.

excellent oral and written communication skills.

exceptional organizational and time management skills.

event management experience.

desired

have past experience working in either the automotive, mobility, or education industries.

have a passion for the city of detroit and working with underserved populations.

have past experience contracting for tech companies.

managing and recruiting volunteers
