a leading contractor based in west yorkshire are seeking to appoint a health & safety advisor to join them on a permanent basis. the company is currently going from strength to strength with a healthy pipeline of works and frameworks agreed within the new build of commercial, industrial, education, residential and mixed use developments.
you will be reporting to the health & safety manager and will be responsible for implementing and reviewing the highest standards of health & safety on a number of projects throughout the yorkshire region.
duties and responsibilities:
responsible for development, maintenance and implementation of all areas of the company's health & safety management systemliaising with site teams to ensure compliance with policies and proceduresliaising with third parties where requiredensure staff receive adequate assistance & support to enable them to implement health & safety effectivelyensure all accidents and dangerous occurrences are reported and investigatedmonitoring of sites and undertaking audits where required with respect to environmental, health & safety and sub-contractor issuesreporting to health & safety manager with respect to environmental, health & safety, sub-contractor performance and training requirements for staffcontribute health & safety information to tenders and proposals
to qualify for this exciting role you must hold a nebosh construction certificate and have prior experience of working within the construction sector.
you will have excellent interpersonal skills communicating with colleagues and clients at all levels; be a team player but also work unsupervised; be computer literate with experience of microsoft office (word & excel) and have a good understanding of health & safety regulations.
