Clairol global brand manager - united states, jamestown (new york)

adecco creative & marketing is recruiting for a global brand manager for one of the largest hair and beauty companies! the individual in this position will be reporting to the global brand director, the key mission of the role is to effectively lead the creation and implementation of plans for your sub-brand(s) globally, within a defined strategy and allocated budget to enable the delivery of the long-term strategy & business objectives across the markets it plays in.

you will be responsible for driving the global sub-brand(s) vision and positioning, presenting recommendations based on consumer and market data, and influencing senior stakeholders to get alignment and approval; as well as successfully lead product and commercial innovations, communication toolboxes, and brand guidelines enforcement in all consumer touch points. you will build effective partnerships with all internal functions and external agencies to ensure best in class execution of plans and campaigns.

this position is temp for 6 months, with potential to become permanent

$60/hr payrate

key responsibilities

brand strategy and fundamentals:

  • drive the agenda for your sub-brand(s)’s vision and positioning, conducting regular consumer & market data analysis to provide insight and recommendations to the brand director and senior director on your sub-brand’s health and areas for improvement or change.
  • audit, enable and enforce adoption of your sub-brand(s)’s guidelines with the markets, through a collaborative approach; and through the communication toolboxes you develop.
  • brand & product innovation

  • define & implement an innovation pipeline for your sub-brand(s) to sufficiently meet the growth objectives in each market - based on continuous and robust consumer understanding and competitive landscape analysis, resulting in compelling hard data to support your proposals.
  • own and lead the delivery of all commercial aspects of each of the innovation projects (product and commercial) in the pipeline you define for your brand, informally leading and collaborating effectively with the multifunctional team: r&d, gil, design, finance, cmi; and external creative & design agencies as required.
  • create all the marketing/communication assets required to bring to life your sub-brand(s) innovation program: from packaging and claims, to video assets and point of sales materials
  • own & lead brand plan and assets delivery to the markets on time in full (fit-for-use inputs collection, regular connects and plan, and deployment); as well as the alignment & approval up to the business svp.
  • finance & budget

  • fully accountable for your sub-brand(s)’s innovations p&l, from development to execution.
  • responsible for the yearly a&cp budget delivery within a 1% tolerance for your sub-brand(s), leading day to day tracking and management.

    skills & qualifications

    ideal qualifications:

  • master’s degree or equivalent in marketing, business management or economics
  • 3-5 years of global/regional marketing experience (brand strategy, consumer insights, marketing campaign & advertising development, digital marketing proficiency)
  • previous experience in the beauty industry
  • strong project management and analytical skills as well as excellent communication skills
  • self-starter attitude
  • open minded spirit, proactive approach with strong focus on results
  • strong attention to detail
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills. especially the ability to work cross functional to achieve results
