Electrical engineer - united states, parkersburg

electrical engineers play a vital role in providing technical support ensuring equipment uptime, capacity, and reliability, ensuring current and future production goals can be met at this high volume, heavy manufacturing plant.  

electrical engineers spend a significant amount of time on the production floor, ensuring priority is given to reliability of equipment and processes. 

candidates that perform this position well typically have a background in, or the ability to learn, the following:   

  • assessing and reporting safety hazards associated with low to medium voltage equipment

  • knowledge and troubleshooting skills of overhead and gantry cranes

  • troubleshooting electrical systems, controls, drives, dc/ac control systems, and 13.8 kv/480 kv power systems

  • plc programming (ex. allen bradley, siemens, modicon)

  • experienced with frequency drives, combustion systems, and instrumentation control.

  • familiar with national electrical code, including nfpa70e

  • estimate maintenance/project cost and accurate timelines

  • effectively communicate with the unionized labor force including production operators and maintenance crafts, who provide valuable experience and information regarding equipment performance 

  • a bachelor in electrical engineering is required

  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment is necessary, including co-op/internships 

  • this position reports to the maintenance manager of a large volume, heavy manufacturing facility in the heart of appalachia, includes a competitive salary with a generous benefits program.
