overview

we require a full-time inventory manager with previous experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing business with high volume of skus and quick order turnaround. you will own the stock management process, maintaining appropriate stock levels to meet demand yet minimising storage and overstocks, working collaboratively with sales, production, supply chain and finance. you'll use and create data to support and drive decision-making to ensure our inventory management is of the highest quality.

responsibilities

- manage sales and supply chain teams to improve forecast accuracy

- optimise working capital, through forecast improvement and through driving out excess and obsolete inventory

- work closely with the ict and finance to define the systems support required for an efficient planning process, both in the short- and long-term

- as a key member of the operations team, support the development of the overall supply chain strategy

- prepare detailed reports on inventory operation, stock levels and adjustments

- co-ordinate global stock takes including quarterly full stock take and cycle counts in the relevant areas

- perform daily analysis to predict potential inventory problems

- actively challenge allocated stock whilst ensuring the best customer service possible

- create weekly system health-check and report on compliance

- allocations - batch compliance and allocation usage

education and key competencies

- good level of literacy and numeracy to at least gcse standard

- experience of the as400 system and microsoft packages

- highly computer and systems literate with an advanced understanding of excel

- strong organisational planning

- commercially and financially aware

- influential and resilient

- numerate, with excellent administrative and record-keeping skills, with a keen eye for detail

- excellent written and verbal communication

- able to multitask and prioritise under pressure

- proactive, positive outlook and flexible, with a willingness to help
