day rate: up to gbp350.00 per day (inside ir35 opwr)/ negotiable depending on circumstances

a true global business and a major player within the uk civil engineering & infrastructure construction and maintenance sectors supporting high value contracts.

our client has an extensive portfolio of capability and experience delivering all highways civil engineering requirements. their diverse range of services include public realm improvements, junction improvements, car parks including park and ride facilities, footways, cycleways and other infrastructure for non-motorised users, carriageway construction and surfacing, drainage improvements, signalisation, road lining & carriageway studs and more.

due to growth in the department and new contract wins, we are recruiting for a freelance/temporary sub agent to support an inner-city highway project and associate civil works expected to last approximately 12-18 months.

the role

as a sub agent you will be responsible for assisting the project manager in order to achieve required project delivery to the customers' objectives, while maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control.

you will understand and interpret drawings & specifications and provide engineering expertise and support to the project team whilst monitoring works in progress. you will be supervising sub-contractors as required and provide information to enable the commercial team to review and interrogate sub-contractor analysis.

the ideal candidate will:

* hold the relevant construction qualifications and have experience working as a sub agent or senior engineer on civil engineering and / or major highways schemes.

* will be proficient with setting-out techniques and equipment, with previous experience of nec & ice contracting standards and can deliver major projects possessing the organisational skills to meet demanding deadlines.

* has excellent organisational, planning and time management skills and can manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on standards and quality.
