i want to enjoy my life and you can help. i enjoy talking, reading, socializing, talking (again)

learning new skills (currently learning to play the keyboard and braille music) and have i mentioned i like to talk. i also enjoy crochet, making stools, trays and other crafts.

hours of work:

flexibility is essential; however, i require the following basic hours:

sunday 9am-5pm £100

sunday 9am-10:30pm £175

sunday 9am - monday 9am £325

bank staff also needed

pay and holiday:

carers will be paid at a rate of £11.50 per hour gross weekday.

carers will be paid at a rate of £12.50 per hour gross weekend and evening shifts.

carers will be paid at a rate of £125 per sleeping night shift

pca’s will be entitled to 5.6 weeks paid holiday per year, pro rata.

tasks:

typical tasks might include:

personal care: training will be provided

intimate care needs
washing & dressing
catheter care
stoma care
hoisting in & out of bed
showering
peg feeding & medication
managing diabetes

domestic duties:

housework, including laundry.

leisure activities:

accompanying me on walks
accompanying me to the library
assisting me to go shopping.
assistance to meet up with friends.
assistance to attend appointments.
enabling me to care for my new guide dog when i start training
enabling me to work

this job description is not exhaustive, and carers will be expected to carry out any reasonable duties required by the employer.

personal specification:

essential criteria:

must be comfortable having dogs around
reliable and trustworthy
must have a flexible approach to the work.
hold a clean current driving license and having driven recently.

desirable criteria:

experience of caring for disabled people
experience of manual handling

experience is not essential as all training will be provided.
