we have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced transport supervisor to ensure the smooth operation of a busy, friendly, transport team. you will be planning routes, supervising transport activities, and ensuring company and driver compliance of all transport policies, legislation, and procedures. you will be the first point of contact for all driver and customer queries. you will ensure the timely delivery of all customer products and maintain customer communication, ensuring customers are kept up to date and fully informed of delivery schedules.

role responsibilities

to collate weekly/monthly information for transport auditing purposes, including otif report.
to de brief drivers daily on their duties for the following day.
to ensure all tachographs are collected / downloaded and analysed within the legal allocated time.
to ensure all drivers training records and driving licences, digital tachographs, driver qualification cards are up to date and checked regularly.
to issue all relevant driver documentation and ensure they are fully aware of their responsibilities and requirements.
to organise vehicles for their preventative maintenance inspections and mot’s.
to arrange for immediate rectification on breakdowns and repairs.
to update and manage all vehicle records for service and maintenance.
to be responsible for ensuring drivers operate in a safe and legal manner and comply with wtd, driver hours and driver legislation.
to answer queries and enquiries from both external customers and internal communications.
to ensure the transport department support the business objectives of delivering a quality product on time every time.
to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
to strengthen client relationships and ensure the successful continuance of business operations.
to ensure safety regulations and compliance with relevant legislation.
to communicate with customers about issues or queries and support the resolution of such.
to answer customer service queries regarding missing or lost items.
to prepare, revise and submit reports and other documentation.

person attributes

excellent admin skills
previous experience of working in a busy transport department with strong organisational skills.
the cpc qualification would be advantageous.
good knowledge of the uk road network.
good knowledge of the road eye system.
highly organised.
excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with both internal and external stakeholders.
ability to deal effectively with customers and staff.
strong understanding of driver legislation.
good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
the ability to work on own initiative.
the ability to demonstrate effective time management, prioritise own tasks and manage own workload.
to ensure all work is completed in a timely and accurate manner with proven experience of adhering to deadlines.
