center bar, part of the restaurant collection at the deutsche bank center, is seeking a runner for immediate hire. a qualified candidate must have 1+ years nyc experience, must be service oriented, and must have an innate sense of hospitality. the candidate must be able to work quickly and cleanly while maintaining high service standards.

summary
the runner is responsible for delivering excellence in guest service and helping staff with several duties in order to create a positive dining experience for guests.

essential job functions

responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

running food orders to and from the main kitchen delivering food and helping with refills to aid food servers during peak restaurant times strong customer service skills for interacting with restaurant guests knowledge of food production and service, including safe storage practices, handling methods and laws and regulations clearing tables of dirty utensils, napkins and dishes and cleaning surfaces so that they’re ready for the next guests ensuring the availability of clean dishes, flatware, glasses, straws and napkins for tables cleaning any spills in the kitchen and dining areas excellent communication and teamwork skills for conveying information to other staff members ability to tolerate stress and work in a fast-paced environment physical strength for lifting and moving heavy objects and stamina for standing and walking for long hours critical thinking and problem-solving skills

education and experience requirements 

1-2 years prior fine dining / high volume production prior nyc experience preferred experience as a busser/runner role required demonstrate basic math and counting skills demonstrates interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
