rustic-chic flatbush gastropub is searching for hosts! ideal candidates have excellent attention to detail, feel comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and can collaborate well within a team. appreciation of and familiarity with craft beer, whiskeys, and new american cuisine is a plus! weekend availability is a must.

the restaurant contains both indoor and outdoor seating, and follows all applicable covid-19 protocols to ensure the safety of our staff and patrons. as such, candidates are required to show identification and proof they have received a full sequence of a covid-19 vaccine unless an exception due to a religious or medical accommodation applies.

duties include but are not limited to:

taking reservations in person and over the phone  prepare the host area, takeout area, and restrooms for brunch or dinner service  maintain advanced understanding of floor plan, table capacities, and table combinations for larger parties  review and assess reservations, rearranging table assignments as needed seat guests at tables and communicate the seating to the assigned server maintain the waitlist and quote accurate wait times to guests  manage dining room and patio ambiance with lighting and music adjustments   package pickup orders and store in hot bags at the host stand  process takeout and delivery orders on square pos at the host stand and on the telephone  run takeout and delivery sales reports on square pos  communicate needs and updates to manager on duty requirements:
1+ years experience experience with digital reservation systems, or at minimum a comfort with learning new technologies is required. ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced full-capacity environment ability to work closing shifts and/or long hours, including weekends sufficient grasp of google suite excellent customer service skills strong attention to detail and comfort working with a team ability to multi-task, reprioritize, and de-escalate ability to stand for long periods and lift/push/pull up to 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation. ability to reach, bend, stoop, talk, and hear while working. comfort with cash handling and basic math create your free profile on culinaryagents.com to apply to any job with a single click! plus, start receiving alerts for new opportunities that match your skills and experience.
