Vamos vamos is hiring a sous chef! we are interviewing potential candidates that possess the following attributes:

-positive attitude with the ability to lead, train and inspire
-a passion for cooking, learning, teaching others
-advanced knife skills and a clean working environment
-ability to multitask and produce consistent dishes at a high volume rate
-understanding of full health and food safety code
-passion for food trends and a flexible understanding of seasonal changes
-an eye for quality and consistency
-composure and ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
-ability to problem solve efficiently and act quickly
-a minimum of two years managerial experience in a high-volume restaurant or bar
-understanding of cost structures, financials and budgets
-open availability and flexible schedule

responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

-working closely with executive chef
-overseeing kitchen inventory and ensuring supplies are fresh and of high quality
-maintaining workstations and kitchen equipment clean, organized and sanitized
-ensuring tools and equipment are stocked and in working order
-management of kitchen operations and employees
-food inventory and kitchen labor management
-building relationships with vendors and suppliers
-maintaining high visibility in the operation and promoting the brand
-assisting in the hiring and training of staff
- taking charge of kitchen opening, closing and running sidework duties as directed by the executive chef
- thorough communication with all staff pre, during, and post shift
- ensure that labor and costs of goods sold benchmarks are achieved on a regular and ongoing basis
- ensuring vamos vamos is up to date and in compliance of all food safety, health code and labor laws
- coordinate preventative maintenance and unexpected needed repairs of all furniture, fixtures, and equipment
