Innocent yesterday is seeking a vegan pastry chef to join our company’s team. this role requires an individual with a passion for quality and the ability to deliver exceptional customer service! we follow an authentic style and high-quality ingredients. we strive to create baked goods that are not only indiscernible from traditional desserts, but superior in flavor and quality. our newest baker will have at least some, but preferably extensive experience with plant-based baking. teamwork is needed, this is a lifestyle job and nothing is beneath you!
responsibilities
-plan and oversee the production and presentation of all bread, pastries, cookies, and desserts.
-prepare items for special diets as needed for vegan, gluten-free, nut allergies, etc.
-participate in the cooking and preparation of all types of food items including savory food items. the pastry chef may be asked to prep or cook meals in addition to their baking responsibility for the day.
-shape dough to prepare different types of pastries
-inventory management for bakery
-overseeing the boh of pastry the department
-prepare custom-made pastries based on customers’ preferences (e.g. special occasions like birthdays)
-assisting customers with orders and ensuring exceptional customer service
-measure, weigh, and properly use recipes in order to produce quality products
-other reasonable assigned duties/tasks as per business needs
qualifications
-2+ years of baking experience required.
-knowledge of vegan, gluten-free, and plant-based items
-must have a passion for baking
-a minimum of 1+ years’ food preparation and food handling experience is required
-must help stay in compliance with the department of health
-must be reliable and dependable
-experience working in a high volume, fast-paced food and/or retail environment
-knowledge of a variety of styles of pastries and different preparation methods
-ability to take direction from all levels of management
-must be able to meet the position's physical demands, including standing for extended periods, bending, pulling, pushing, carrying up to 50 pounds, etc.
-measure, weigh and properly use recipes in order to produce quality products
-other reasonable assigned duties/tasks as per business needs
qualifications
