gardners buying department are currently recruiting for a highly organised and motivated candidate who will assist the team as a stock & administrative controller.

we have an exciting vacancy to become a part of our buying department as a stock & administrative controller as part of our inventory team.

our stock & administrative controllers are responsible for a variety of day-to-day tasks that aide the team and keep the systems moving smoothly. this is a dynamic and exciting area of the business where we manage all aspects of book inventory including buying, returns and general stock management.

reporting to the stock manager you will use your initiative and office skills to deliver excellent results across the business. this stock and administrative controller position is a dynamic role with commercial, financial, and operational aspects. it is a rewarding role offering a varied and exciting range of work that covers all areas of the business.

working with suppliers and other departments at all levels the position will involve, (but is not limited to):

raising, tracking, and maintaining publisher orders.raising and managing returnsassisting in the management of our inventory across multiple sites.liaising with gardners sales and accounting departmentscreating and maintaining system and excel reportsthe buying team promotes a strong team culture, you will be working with various members of not only the team, but other departments, publishers and with colleagues at all levels. it is key you are able to work well as part of a team, but also to be able to work on projects alone.

this role is temporarily hybrid but will revert to office-based at a later date. the office is based in eastbourne. the hours for this position are from 9am - 5.30pm, monday - friday.
