The estimator will coordinate with estimating professionals including architects, engineers, contractors, and sales to provide a cost-effective estimating solution and respond to tender offers for construction services. the position is responsible for managing, planning, coordinating, and preparing the estimate for tenders. responsible for reviewing all final estimate packages to ensure accuracy and completeness.
key responsibilities
• responsible for all work performed for preparing estimates for tender offers.
• verifies that the work performed is accurate and complete.
• responsible for assembling and calculating all labor costs and standards.
• coordinates with all other estimators and relevant professionals and the management team.
• prepare pricing estimates on new projects and estimate prices on change orders on existing contracts.
• read and understand job bid instructions, detailed specifications, estimate all necessary labor, materials, buyout items, equipment costs to prepare a through price estimate.
• exercise good judgment and experience in working with purchasing, labor, equipment and transportation costs to arrive at full cost estimate.
• ability to read, interpret and clarify blueprint plans and specifications with attention to detail.
• developing budgets
work experience
a minimum of (5-10) years related experience estimating and bidding on construction projects. prior supervisory/managerial experience preferred.
education/training
hs diploma or equivalent. a bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management is preferred
