hireart is helping the world’s largest social network hire a technical artist to partner with a cross-functional team to build new cutting-edge social experiences in augmented reality.

in this role, you’ll help bring various ar experiences to life across the company's various surfaces and apps.

as a technical artist, you’ll:

triage incoming bugs for existing ar experiences, troubleshoot/implement solutions with the partnership of the engineering team.manage the devkit inventor and deployment for team members and partners. educate and inform partners on best internal development practices.partner closely with the engineering and design teams to develop content across a range of devices.implement runtime logic within a complex real-time environment with performance limitations in mind.prototype, profile and optimize custom shaders.optimize content through enhancing performance and instructing the artists/designers on asset creation, modeling and texturing best practices.develop broad technical expertise to assist in a wide variety of technical/artistic tasks e.g. diagnosing and fixing bugs.thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.design, manage and maintain the pipeline from artists and designers through to deployment.

requirements experience with game/real-time profiling and optimization techniquesexperience with real-time scriptingexperience in shader languages e.g. glsl, shaderlab, hlslexperience shipping products with stringent runtime performance constraints e.g. complex mobile/3d applications or gamesexperience collaborating with cross-functional teamsexperience communicating across team members including engineers and artistsexperience in real-time content authoring e.g. characters, environments, vfx, animation, lightingexperience working with version control systems e.g. git, perforce, etc.
preferred qualifications:

deep knowledge of low level real-time graphics pipeline conceptsexperience working in ar frameworks e.g. spark, snap, tiktok and javascriptpassionate and informed about emerging technologies.highly self-motivated with a product focused mindset
commitment:this is a full-time, 6-month contract position staffed via hireart. it will be available to candidates local to denver, co; new york, ny; houston, tx; los angeles, ca and san diego, ca areas.
