The cad/cam designer reports to the managing partner of proto-vest ddryers, llc and will serve as the primary drafter for our company. they will work with sales and operations to assist with the product development process including both new products and customization of existing configurations. utilizing autocad and solidworks' software drafting systems software, which is focused on 2d and 3d designs.

a very important component of the cad/cam designer's responsibilities is the direct interface with existing, and potential new customers. to be successful, they must demonstrate that they must have the following behaviors; likable, knowledgeable, professional, direct, timely, truthful, and energetic, both with internal and external customers.



duties and responsibilities:

1. analyze new product designs and develop manufacturing specifications to best utilize existing manufacturing processes and equipment

2. create detailed engineered cad drawings of finished units and sub-assemblies

3. responsible for the designs and recommendation of engineering materials

4. assist with the design of new products, production of prototypes, and finished product

5. analyze existing and new bom(bills of material) for accuracy and take corrective action when required

6. interface with production cut planner for material optimization

7. create, maintain, and provide the manufacturing department with final assembly and part drawings.

8. maintain and update policies/procedures for the engineering function

9. manage the engineering change order process from ideation through the implementation of revisions

education:

-a high school diploma or ged equivalent

-associate or bachelor's degree is preferred, but not required



cad/cam experience:

-cad/cam: at least 2/3 years of cad/cam experience is required

-cad/cam experience in the light manufacturing sector is a plus, but not required

-microsoft excel: 3 years is preferred, but not required
