what the role involves
we are looking for a full-time kitchen porter for immediate start in our popular casual dining restaurant, the buttery, to work five days per week, approximately 1000 - 1700.
you will be working as part of a small kitchen team under the head chef, contributing to the smooth running of kitchen operations; the main duties will include:
washing dishes and utensils and storing them
cleaning kitchen equipment, floors and other areas
basic food preparation
maintaining all equipment with due care and diligence
managing deliveries of produce and supplies
who we’re looking for
we need an industrious, reliable person who will enjoy the opportunity to learn in a professional kitchen. some previous experience would be an advantage, but not essential - more important is a positive, can-do attitude! ideally we are looking for someone who has the following attributes:
a fast learner with an interest in commercial catering
someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean and well-ordered working environment
able to cope with fast-paced service during busy times
good communication skills with at least an intermediate level of english
